Big Week Done; Praise God
This last week was awesome. It was exhausting (but awesome). On Sunday we welcomed 220 people onto campus which is the biggest week in YUGO history. The days felt so long with chores from sunrise till after sunset. I felt like I didn’t see everyone very much. In fact last night was the first time my roommate and I had a chance to really catch up or chat one on one all week. I was paired up with Samy on the build this week. We had a small but willing team. We were building for a pastor and his wife who are waiting on a congregation to pastor. Their family was so sweet and it was a privilege to be there to bless and love on them and feel sure their salvation was secure. It was also so cool to see their church rally and come day after day to help build or make some food. I spent all of Monday and Tuesday just speaking Spanish with the church guys so that at points I would hear English from the team and it would not register. Samy and I have a great dynamic and I led the whole roof which was finished early at 10am Wednesday. We dedicated at 11 on Thursday. After sharing lunch with the family and team we headed out to stop by Pancho’s D house work site. We ended up stopping at 3 other sites and seeing them before their dedications which was a blast. We got back and prepped the truck. Our timely return gave me the chance to shower, laundry and take a much needed hour and a half nap after working opening cafe shift all week. Friday we did chores and cleaning but then in the afternoon instead of an activity we just chilled. We watched YouTube, ate dinner and visited. It was a great recoup from the week. Today we went to gorgeous pool cook out with a bunch of staff families. We chilled in the shade and the grass and swam and played and ate. So refreshing.
This team is such a sweet family.
So awesome bro. Love to hear that the community with other staff and visiting churches is so edifying. Miss you dawg.
